About The Position

We are currently hiring a Sr. Technician to support our global software client onsite in Boise, ID. This role is technical in nature, and the ideal candidate would benefit from experience in an ever-evolving R&D team culture. In this role, you will be providing engineering technician services supporting our clients’ R&D LaserJet development activities. This is a full-time position with day shift available working at the client-site with a Monday through Friday work week.

Requirements

  • In-depth knowledge of electrical/electronic circuitry and mechanical/electromechanical devices. Ability to troubleshoot to the board/sub-assembly/component level.
  • Strong mechanical skills.
  • Working technical knowledge of scripting codes and tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to design simple electrical circuits and test fixtures.
  • A strong understanding of Operating systems and Firmware.
  • Experience working with a variety of test equipment including oscilloscopes, data acquisition, thermal imaging and video capture.
  • Intermediate PC skills with emphasis on Microsoft Windows and software suites (i.e., MS Excel, MSWord, Outlook).
  • A strong “Can Do” attitude, with excellent initiative, ability to learn quickly, follows directions and thrives in a work environment that changes frequently.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs and move equipment around as needed.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • A minimum of 2-year technical degree (or equivalent) in Electronics/Electrical or Mechanical Engineering is required. Education requirements can be waived/reduced depending on skillset, industry standard certifications or other related industry work experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of HP LaserJet printers/subassemblies functions and operations.
  • Knowledge of HP LaserJet printer FW installation and upgrading.
  • Understanding of and experience building PCs.
  • Working technical knowledge of Linux/Unix scripting codes and tools.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting both mechanical and electrical support functions to assist with engineering and test activities.
  • Supporting fabrication of mechanical parts/test fixtures, electrical design, repairs, and design modifications.
  • Conducting operational tests and failure analysis, as well as test verification of product specs.
  • Performing HW/FW upgrades.
  • Reporting, distribution, and tracking of assigned work and testing.
  • Analyzing printer failures and troubleshooting root causes.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
