About The Position

The Senior Technical Project Manager is responsible for leading complex industrialization and manufacturing readiness programs that support capacity growth, new capability implementation, and production line readiness. This role leads cross-functional execution from equipment installation through operational handoff, ensuring schedules, resources, technical deliverables, and business priorities are aligned. This position requires specialized project management expertise in a technical manufacturing environment, strong operational judgment, and the ability to influence execution across a highly matrixed organization. The Senior Technical Project Manager will drive project performance related to safety, quality, delivery, and startup readiness while helping shape execution strategy within the area of responsibility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of project management experience in manufacturing, industrialization, engineering, or other technical operations environments.
  • Demonstrated experience leading multiple complex technical or manufacturing projects simultaneously.
  • Proven experience integrating cross-functional schedules and managing project execution across multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong experience in manufacturing readiness, equipment installation, process implementation, or production startup.
  • Advanced Smartsheet capability, including schedule buildout, dashboarding, workflow automation, and reporting.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship now or in the future
  • Ability to work off-shift or flexible schedule at times as required by project timelines
  • Ability and desire to work on site in a manufacturing environment
  • This position is 100% onsite at the GE Vernova Greenville, SC Garlington Road location
  • This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment

Nice To Haves

  • PMP certification preferred.
  • Experience in aerospace, power generation, or other highly technical industrial manufacturing settings.
  • Experience supporting CAPEX programs, line startup, tooling implementation, and qualification planning.
  • Strong familiarity with matrix execution environments and shared-resource planning.

Responsibilities

  • Lead multiple concurrent industrialization and manufacturing readiness projects with significant cross-functional interdependencies.
  • Drive execution of projects involving line modifications, equipment installation, tooling readiness, process setup, programming, qualification, and startup.
  • Ensure project objectives are met in alignment with operating plans, business priorities, and manufacturing requirements.
  • Provide high-level project leadership from planning through implementation and transition to production ownership.
  • Build and manage integrated master schedules across technical and operational workstreams.
  • Coordinate interdependencies across machine installation, process development, controls/programming, tooling, fixtures, procurement, qualification, and production readiness.
  • Identify critical path risks, evaluate schedule impacts, and lead recovery planning when needed.
  • Use project controls and data-driven analysis to support decision-making and protect milestone delivery.
  • Coordinate all execution activities required to move equipment and processes from installation to full manufacturing readiness.
  • Ensure engineering outputs, manufacturing requirements, quality plans, tooling availability, and startup activities are aligned.
  • Lead readiness reviews and milestone assessments to confirm launch preparedness.
  • Drive structured transition from project execution into stable production operations.
  • Design and manage complex Smartsheet architectures, including integrated schedules, dashboards, workflow automation, templates, and reporting tools.
  • Establish clear visibility to project status, key risks, constraints, action items, and resource needs.
  • Improve consistency and rigor in project tracking, execution governance, and leadership reporting.
  • Serve as the advanced scheduling and reporting resource for complex technical programs.
  • Act as the central project leader across CAPEX, Engineering, CAD/CAM, Development, Deployment, Quality, Manufacturing, Sourcing, and Fixture / Part Movement teams.
  • Influence stakeholders across shared-resource environments to align priorities and resolve conflicts.
  • Lead structured issue resolution and escalation for complex execution challenges.
  • Support leadership decision-making through clear tradeoff analysis, status transparency, and execution recommendations.
  • Identify and mitigate resource bottlenecks that could affect schedule, startup, or qualification activities.
  • Track procurement timing and delivery performance for tooling, fixtures, equipment, and critical purchased items.
  • Adjust schedules and execution strategies based on supplier delays, scope changes, technical issues, or operational constraints.
  • Maintain risk management discipline through active tracking of issues, actions, owners, and escalation points.
  • Lead project operating rhythms including status reviews, readiness meetings, and stakeholder updates.
  • Communicate difficult concepts, execution risks, and recommendations to technical experts, manufacturing leaders, and business stakeholders.
  • Provide concise, actionable, and data-based updates to support timely decisions.
  • Influence others to take action and align around project priorities in a matrixed environment.
