About The Position

At McGraw Hill, we are dedicated to delivering digital learning experiences that transform education for learners and educators. Our focus is on creating seamless, impactful products that truly benefit our users while supporting growth and collaboration across teams. We foster a culture that values innovation, teamwork, and a balance between career growth and personal well-being. We're looking for a Sr Technical Project Manager - AI Enablement to lead the company-wide rollout of our Enterprise AI tool and manage our AI enablement initiatives for business and technology users. This role is instrumental in transforming how our company works: you will help drive the shift toward becoming an AI native organization, where AI tools are a natural part of how every team solves problems, not an afterthought. This is a hands-on, execution-first role. You won't just coordinate work, you'll roll up your sleeves and do it: building rollout plans, troubleshooting adoption issues, and stepping in wherever the initiative needs momentum. You'll work closely with engineering, IT, security, and business stakeholders, and partner day to day with our Solution Engineers to design solutions and guide business users as they apply AI tools to real business problems. This is a fast-moving space where priorities shift often, and you'll need to be comfortable re-prioritizing quickly without losing sight of the bigger picture. This is a remote position open to applicants authorized to work for any employer within the United States.

Requirements

  • A technical background: software engineering, IT, data, or a related field, that lets you engage credibly with engineers and technical stakeholders.
  • Proven experience managing technical or cross-functional projects, ideally including tool rollouts or change management initiatives.
  • Genuinely enthusiastic about doing the work yourself: you'd rather build the first draft than wait for someone else to.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment where priorities shift often, and you can reprioritize without losing momentum.
  • Curious about AI and emerging AI tools, or eager to become an expert quickly.
  • Strong communicator who can translate technical concepts for business audiences and business priorities for technical teams
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field preferred.
  • In depth knowledge of software development and adoption, ideally in Ed Tech preferred.
  • Project management experience required, demonstrated by a minimum of 5 years as Project Manager, managing a project timeline, resources, and scope in order to meet business requirements.
  • Self-motivated and well-organized; able to prioritize tasks and work well under pressure.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills required.
  • Strong organizational, planning and prioritization skills required.
  • Adequate product knowledge and understanding of markets/customers.
  • Proven ability to build and lead strong teams and other Project Managers.
  • Experience building and scaling highly-engaged, high performing product teams in a fast-paced SaaS environment.
  • Exceptional problem solving skills.
  • History of building effective relationships at all levels.
  • Ability to function successfully across matrix environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree is a plus.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
  • Experience in consulting, working with business partners, and external vendors utilizing both traditional and rapid/lightweight project management is desired.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end project plan for rolling out our enterprise AI tool across business and technology teams, from provisioning and access through change management and adoption tracking.
  • Manage a broader portfolio of AI enablement projects from intake through delivery, translating ambiguous or evolving goals into clear plans with defined owners, milestones, and success measures.
  • Coordinate with IT, security, legal, and vendor teams to manage licensing, access, and compliance requirements.
  • Identify and unblock risks and dependencies before they derail timelines and as business needs and leadership priorities shift.
  • Track usage, adoption, ROI, and feedback metrics, and translate them into concrete next steps.
  • Partner with Solution Engineers to design practical AI solutions and guide business users as they apply AI tools to their specific workflows and problems.
  • Act as a bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders, making sure solutions actually get used, not just delivered.
  • Personally do the work when needed: draft the rollout plan, build the tracking sheet, write the FAQ, run the training session, rather than only assigning it to others.
  • Get into the details of how the tools actually work so you can troubleshoot issues and speak credibly with technical stakeholders.

Benefits

  • An annual bonus plan may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical and/or other benefits, depending on the position offered.
