About The Position

AWS Infrastructure Services is responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure, ensuring the cloud runs smoothly. This role supports all AWS data centers and the associated equipment, aiming to provide customers with continuous access to innovation. The team comprises diverse specialists including software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain experts, security professionals, and operations managers. Collaboration across AWS is key to maintaining high standards of safety and security while delivering scalable capacity at the lowest possible cost. The team fosters an inclusive culture that encourages bold ideas and empowers employees to see them through to completion. This position, based in Herndon, VA, will oversee data center build projects. The Technical Infrastructure Program Manager will lead cross-functional and technical teams through all project phases, from conceptual design feasibility to requirements, budget, design completion, implementation, testing, and deployment. Success in this role requires strong judgment, negotiation skills, the ability to influence without authority, analytical talent, technical aptitude, and leadership. The role involves collaborating with diverse stakeholders across multiple time zones, managing capital budgets, eliminating non-value-add activities, designing solutions, removing blockers, and accelerating project delivery.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of program management or technical project management experience
  • Strong communicator (both written and verbal)
  • Not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities
  • Capable of understanding mechanical/electrical engineering concepts
  • Able to apply a variety of project management tools, methodologies and techniques for all phases of the project lifecycle
  • Demonstrated experience in core project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, resources, quality and risk management, reporting and metric development/tracking
  • Experience with MS Office, MS Project and MS SharePoint

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Tableau, KanBan, Playbook, SQL and systems integration
