About The Position

Join Amazon's Tax Controversy Team and help resolve complex tax matters that impact our global operations. You'll work on high-stakes US federal tax audits involving transfer pricing, international tax issues, and competent authority interactions, collaborating with internal experts and external advisors to deliver solutions that matter.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a large public accounting firm or multi-national corporate tax department
  • Master's degree
  • CPA, or LL.M. (Taxation)
  • Experience working in transfer pricing including MAPs and APAs, or transfer pricing related tax audits
  • Experience responding to Tax Authority requests

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary tax contact for US federal audits, managing transfer pricing controversies, Advance Pricing Agreements, and other global tax matters
  • Prepare, coordinate, and deliver comprehensive responses to information requests, due diligence inquiries, and other tax authority communications
  • Develop and present detailed analyses and presentations on tax positions to tax authorities and internal stakeholders
  • Research, document, and analyze complex domestic and international tax issues from a controversy perspective, utilizing data analysis tools and emerging technologies
  • Coordinate across Amazon's tax functions, legal team, and external advisors to align on strategy and ensure consistent communication with tax authorities
