About The Position
Our client, a technology services company in Buffalo, NY, is seeking a Sr. Systems Engineer to join their team! This is a full-time/direct hire/on-site position Salary for this role based on experience: $85k-115k Position Overview: We are seeking a Technology Consultant/ Sr. Systems Engineer to help design, implement, and support IT infrastructure and cloud solutions across our diverse client environments. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who enjoys hands-on technical work, client interaction, and growing into increased technical leadership over time. You will work closely with engineers, project team members, and clients to deliver reliable, secure, and scalable IT solutions across on-premises, hybrid, and cloud environments.
Requirements
- 5 -7+ years of experience in systems engineering, IT infrastructure, or related roles.
- Strong working knowledge of Windows Server and Active Directory.
- Experience with the virtualization platform VMware.
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, VLANS).
- Experience supporting hybrid or cloud-connected environments.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Proven analytical, communication, and customer-service skills.

- Technical Certifications such as Microsoft, VMware, CompTIA (Security+, Network+)
Responsibilities
- Support, maintain, and enhance client infrastructure across on-prem, hybrid, and cloud environments.
- Participate in client infrastructure projects such as cloud migrations, system upgrades, and new deployments.
- Partner with clients to understand technical needs and provide clear, practical solutions.
- Assist in designing solutions that meet security, performance, and availability best practices.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and perform root-cause analysis.
- Collaborate with the technical team on architecture decisions and project execution.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and technical staff.
