About The Position

MGS is seeking a Sr. Systems Engineer, Platform/Infrastructure to deploy, administer, and sustain Linux-based platforms and COTS applications within secure cloud environments in support of national security missions. In this role, you will design and maintain cloud architecture, troubleshoot complex system and application issues, and integrate enterprise services to ensure platform reliability and mission readiness. Working alongside engineering, cybersecurity, and infrastructure teams, you will keep critical environments running and implement improvements that directly enable mission delivery.

Requirements

  • Must possess an active DoD TS/SCI security clearance with CI Polygraph.
  • Must meet DoD 8140 requirements, including Security+ CE certification.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in a STEM field.
  • 10+ years of experience working with Linux platforms and COTS applications in cloud environments.
  • Experience with cloud architecture, system design, and enterprise application integration.
  • Experience supporting relational and non-relational databases including PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB.
  • Experience supporting IdAM technologies including Active Directory, SAML, OpenLDAP, OAuth 2.0, and OIDC.
  • Experience with DevOps tooling including Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, and GitLab.
  • Familiarity with containerized development environments including Rancher and Kubernetes.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) environments and tools.
  • Experience optimizing cloud-hosted solutions and supporting Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), IBM Cloud, or similar environments.
  • Experience configuring and instrumenting monitoring and visualization tools such as Grafana and Splunk.
  • Experience implementing and integrating ServiceNow solutions.
  • Familiarity with customer security requirements and processes within classified environments.
  • Experience supporting virtualization technologies and application streaming or layering techniques.
  • Experience designing APIs including REST or GraphQL and event-driven systems.
  • Experience maintaining API gateways and catalogs within cloud-based environments.
  • Experience integrating complex systems using APIs, message queues, streaming platforms, and ETL pipelines.
  • Experience leading from a total system perspective across cloud services, infrastructure, and security domains.

Responsibilities

  • Deploy, administer, and maintain Linux platforms and COTS applications within cloud-hosted environments.
  • Design and support cloud architecture and system integrations, including workflow, ticketing, and automation platforms such as ServiceNow.
  • Troubleshoot complex system, application, and infrastructure issues using log file analysis and root-cause analysis techniques.
  • Administer relational and non-relational databases including PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB.
  • Support Identity and Access Management (IdAM) solutions including Active Directory, SAML, OpenLDAP, OAuth 2.0, and OIDC.
  • Implement and maintain DevOps automation using Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, and GitLab.
  • Support containerized environments utilizing Rancher, Kubernetes, or similar technologies.
  • Conduct system testing and validation to ensure operational readiness.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, implementation guides, and operational procedures.
