About The Position

Provides technical maintenance and recovery support to the firm’s information technology systems. Uses a variety of testing tools and techniques to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical problems associated with the system’s hardware and software. Interfaces with vendors and maintenance providers to service and maintain the system, implement necessary measures to limit the system’s downtime, provide technical support to optimize system performance.

Requirements

  • Experience designing and evaluating new system requirements.
  • Prior experience communicating with multiple departments at a technical level.
  • Technical expertise building, configuring and maintaining various systems within a data center environment.
  • Experience working with technical platforms and installing related operating systems, updates and platform hardening.
  • Effective communication skills to inform others when action is required to respond to technology system issues.
  • Attention to detail and ability to identify when IT systems are not operating optimally.
  • Adjusts to new conditions, challenges, or changes with flexibility and a positive attitude.
  • Manages time, tasks, and resources efficiently to maintain structure, meet deadlines, and achieve goals.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, or equivalent degree or experience preferred.
  • 10+ years previous work experience of installation, configuration, troubleshooting, repair, supporting, administering, design and planning in LAN/WAN environment.
  • Previous project management experience working on complex and multifaceted implementations

Nice To Haves

  • Cisco CCNA, Cisco CCNE, or Microsoft MCSE certification preferred or any additional industry recognized certifications.
  • Previous experience with Microsoft network operating systems, Novell, Unix, Linux, and TCP/IP, IPX/SPX, and related network protocols also preferred.
  • 5-7 years’ working experience while holding a MSCA, and/or MCSE certification, and/or CCNA, and/or CCNP certifications, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in analyzing, planning, implementing, maintaining, troubleshooting and enhancing large complex systems or networks consisting of a combination that may include servers, LANS, WANs. Fabrics, storage arrays, and the physical and logical components that integrate these systems together as an enterprise networking backbone or platform.
  • Formulates recommendations consistent with company directives, policies, standards and regulations, and exercises independent discretion over work methods, assignment requirements, and decisions required to complete assigned tasks.
  • Serves as a senior technical architect and systems integrator for large complex systems or networks.
  • Leads the day-to-day operational support for server, storage or network infrastructures.
  • Builds, patches, tests (check for compatibility issues, conducts QA) and deploys complex systems and platforms meeting clients’ needs and specifications.
  • Leads in planning and implementing changes to infrastructure with the goal of enhancing performance.
  • Performs complex storage and server data backup, data migration and disaster recovery operations.
  • Configures security settings or access permissions for groups and individuals and ensures compliance with enterprise security policies and guidelines.
  • Provides technical support (help desk) to users by troubleshooting problems related to network or platform performance and updates relevant documentation.
  • Leads the configuration and maintenance of office and/or production software, adjunct support and/or utility software, i.e. Virus malware protection and/or application software.
  • Collect, document and analyze information assurance vulnerability information to inform managers of status of findings.
