About The Position

The Network Systems Engineer serves as a key technical resource responsible for the architecture, deployment, and lifecycle management of enterprise network and infrastructure systems, including virtualization platforms, storage solutions, and endpoint environments. This role ensures the stability, security, and scalability of IT operations across multiple sites by implementing best practices in monitoring, backup and disaster recovery, and system performance optimization. The Network Systems Engineer provides advanced troubleshooting across integrated systems and collaborates with cross-functional teams to support production-critical operations and drive infrastructure modernization initiatives.

  • 5+ years of experience managing a network of at least five servers and 50 clients.
  • Expert knowledge of Windows Server platforms and Active Directory.
  • Good working knowledge of Vmware and HyperV.
  • Good working knowledge of SAN management and maintenance.
  • Good working knowledge of layer 2 and layer 3 switch configuration.
  • Working knowledge of Local Area Network infrastructure and protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains division and local datacenters IT infrastructure
  • Ensures data integrity and business continuity through effective implementation and maintenance of the data backup and disaster recovery plan including daily reviews of backups and corrective action for job failures.
  • Maintains deployment and maintenance of security software.
  • Ensures timely resolution/referral of user problems by understanding the impact to the user and assigning an appropriate priority and resolution goal.
  • Monitor server health and conducts preventive maintenance to ensure near 100% uptime.
  • Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure across division, local, and remote datacenters, ensuring high availability and performance
  • Administer and support virtualization environments, including VMware and Hyper‑V, covering hosts, clusters, and virtual machines
  • Manage storage systems (SANs) including provisioning, monitoring, performance tuning, and capacity planning
  • Oversee lifecycle management of Windows-based virtual servers hosted in VMware and Hyper‑V environments
  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise backup solutions (Veeam), including backup jobs, replication, and disaster recovery procedures
  • Install and support Layer 2 and Layer 3 network infrastructure, including Cisco and Juniper switches
  • Configure and support end-user systems, including PCs, printers, and peripheral devices
  • Manage and maintain enterprise communication systems, including VoIP phone systems and video surveillance
  • Deploy, configure, and support wireless networking infrastructure across facilities
  • Administer Active Directory, including user and group management, permissions, and organizational unit structure
  • Design and manage Group Policy Objects (GPOs) to enforce security and configuration standards
  • Support and maintain Microsoft Intune and Azure (Entra ID) for endpoint management and identity services
  • Administer Microsoft 365 / Office 365, including Exchange Online, mailbox management
  • Manage and maintain Windows Remote Desktop Services (RDS) infrastructure
  • Perform system monitoring, patching, and updates across servers, network devices, and endpoints
  • Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues spanning networking, systems, storage, and virtualization
  • Document configurations, procedures, and network diagrams to maintain operational clarity and compliance
  • Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing to ensure business continuity
  • Collaborate with IT teams and vendors to support infrastructure improvements and issue resolution
  • Communicates relevant information to all appropriate functional areas (manufacturing, engineering, quality, etc.).
  • Other duties as assigned.
