About The Position

This role is for a Sr System Administrator with a Florida Government Agency. The position is on-site in Tallahassee, FL, and requires the candidate to currently reside in the Tallahassee region. The term is from July 2026 to June 2027 with opportunities for renewal. The role involves coordinating server configuration and administration, making recommendations for upgrades, monitoring systems for security, availability, and performance, and establishing systems by evaluating network performance. The administrator will also maintain network and systems performance, create and manage Azure DevOps projects, and oversee and configure Azure DevOps organizational settings. Additionally, the role includes recommending and assisting with building and hosting complex application solutions, and understanding, deploying, and managing cloud services.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or technical institute degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience.
• 6+ years of professional experience in information systems engineering or a related field is required.
• 2-3 years of experience in Server 2012 R2, 2016, 2019, and 2022.
• 2-3 years of experience in IIS Administration
• 2-3 years of experience in Network communications, including TCP/IP and DNS Samba/CIFS file sharing and NTFS permissions.
• AWS cloud systems is required.
• Administration of Microsoft software

Nice To Haves

• 3-5 years of IT work experience in infrastructure/network environments and supporting middleware such as API Management, IT Service Automation tools, and batch job services is highly desired.
• Microsoft Azure and GCP cloud systems is highly desired.
• Linux is a plus

Responsibilities

• Coordinate server configuration and administration with multiple parties
• Make recommendations for future server and software upgrades.
• Monitor systems and applications to ensure security, availability, and performance.
• Establish systems by evaluating network performance issues, including availability, utilization, throughput, goodput, and latency; planning and executing the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of equipment; defining network policies and procedures; and establishing connections and firewalls.
• Maintains network and systems performance by performing systems monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning; troubleshooting systems and application problems; escalating problems to vendor.
• Create and manage Azure DevOps projects, git repositories, and pipelines.
• Oversee and configure Azure DevOps organizational settings.
• Recommend and assist with the building and hosting of complex application solutions.
• Understand, deploy, and manage AWS, Microsoft Azure, and/or other cloud services.
