About The Position

The Sr Sustaining Electrical Engineer will provide technical leadership for electrical aspects of sustaining engineering across products. Drive strategy for reliability, component lifecycle, and design improvements, while resolving the most complex issues.

Requirements

10+ years of experience preferred
Expert level understanding of circuit behavior, signal integrity, power systems, and schematic design, with mastery in PCBA design tools such as Altium Designer preferred
Recognized technical leader with strong decision-making ability
Advanced problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
Strong cross-functional leadership and communication skills
B.S. in Engineering (Electrical, Computer or similar).
Candidates must reside within commuting distance of our Boulder, CO office.

Responsibilities

Define the global electrical validation strategy and technical benchmarks for all sustaining engineering programs.
Ensure electrical designs remain robust for long-term support, specifically regarding high-density server and tape library power architectures.
Lead the analysis of the most complex, high-business-impact field failures, guiding the team to systemic resolutions.
Oversee the lifecycle strategy for all PCBAs, setting the standards for Altium design protocols and documentation.
Lead the overarching compliance strategy, acting as the primary interface with external certification bodies for Safety and EMC.
Coordinate with executive stakeholders to align electrical sustaining activities with broader business and financial goals.
Mentor engineers across all levels, shaping the technical direction and professional growth of the electrical team.
Establish long-term obsolescence management strategies for the entire product portfolio.
Drive major cross-functional initiatives to improve product reliability and reduce total cost of ownership.
Set the standards for component selection and BOM management to ensure maximum supply chain resilience.
