About The Position

The Sr. Surgical Tech utilizes advanced surgical techniques as part of the healthcare team to assist with direct patient care activities during medical procedures. The role helps ensure that the environment is safe, equipment functions properly, and procedures are conducted to maximize patient safety. Responsibilities include preparing and stocking the operating room before and after surgery, gathering and organizing clean and sterile supplies, setting sterile instrument fields, and maintaining and monitoring aseptic techniques. The position also assists with orienting new staff and participates on departmental committees. Applicants with fewer than two years of experience may be considered for the Surgical Tech position (8931), with a stated pay range of $33.95–$42.19. Applicants with two or more years of experience may be considered for the Sr. Surgical Tech position (8930), with a stated pay range of $36.73–$45.67.

Requirements

Two years of demonstrated surgical technologist experience in multiple specialties in an acute care facility.
Successful completion of an accredited course in surgical technology.
Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
Ability to work variable shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
Understanding of medical terminology.

Scrub Technician Certification.
