Sr. Surgeon Recruiter

SALT Dental PartnersUNAVAILABLE, UNAVAILABLE

About The Position

The Sr. Surgeon Recruiter is a high-impact, specialist-level role responsible for the end-to-end recruitment of oral and maxillofacial surgeons and across the SALT platform. This is not a transactional recruiting function. The individual in this seat operates as a trusted advisor and talent acquisition partner to a demanding, high-earning, and relationship-driven candidate population. You will be expected to approach every surgeon interaction with discretion, preparation, and a white-glove level of responsiveness. This role requires deep fluency in the oral surgery market, including compensation benchmarking, partnership and equity structures, and the reputational dynamics of the OMS community. You will work directly with the SVP of Talent Acquisition, executive leadership, and regional operations partners to build a consistent pipeline of qualified, culturally aligned oral surgeons who want to grow with SALT.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of physician or specialty dental recruiting experience, with demonstrated success placing oral surgeons, oral and maxillofacial surgeons, or equivalent high-value clinical professionals.
  • Working knowledge of OMS compensation structures, employment contract components, and practice model differences (private practice, DSO, academic, hospital-based).
  • Proven track record managing complex, multi-month recruiting processes for high-earning, passive candidates.
  • Experience sourcing and engaging candidates on various platforms and lists
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. You must be comfortable presenting to surgeons, practice owners, and executive leadership with equal credibility.
  • High degree of organizational discipline and attention to detail across a concurrent book of searches.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience recruiting within a DSO, PE-backed healthcare group, or national medical staffing firm.
  • Existing network within the OMS residency or professional community (AAOMS, regional oral surgery societies).
  • Familiarity with PC/MSO structures, CPOD requirements, and multi-state licensing considerations.
  • Experience supporting compensation benchmarking and offer design at the executive or physician level.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain a proprietary pipeline of active and passive OMS candidates through direct outreach, residency program relationships, professional association engagement, and targeted LinkedIn and other sourcing strategies.
  • Develop and steward relationships with OMS residency program directors at target institutions across the country.
  • Leverage data from Avature and other platforms to track candidate engagement, pipeline velocity, and market coverage gaps.
  • Identify and engage passive candidates with precision outreach, treating every first contact as a brand interaction for SALT.
  • Manage all surgeon touchpoints with a high-touch, bespoke approach. Response times, follow-through, and communication quality reflect directly on SALT's reputation in the OMS community.
  • Prepare candidates thoroughly for every stage of the process, including market briefings, comp structure explanations, and site visit coordination.
  • Personally escort or arrange premium coordination for candidate site visits, including travel logistics, accommodations, and itinerary management when appropriate.
  • Provide candidates with a differentiated experience that reflects SALT's values as a partner-first, surgeon-centric organization.
  • Maintain current knowledge of OMS compensation benchmarks, including production-based models, base plus bonus structures, partnership tracks, and equity buy-in frameworks.
  • Advise hiring managers and regional leadership on competitive comp package design based on real-time market data and candidate feedback.
  • Track the competitive landscape, including movement of surgeons between DSOs, academic programs, and private practices.
  • Monitor non-compete enforceability trends by state and advise on risk and strategy in partnership with legal.
  • Own the full recruiting lifecycle from sourcing through signed offer, including screening, presentation, interview coordination, reference checks, and credentialing prep.
  • Partner with the SVP of TA to structure competitive, compliant offer packages including base, production bonus, signing bonus, relocation, malpractice, tail coverage, and equity components.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in recruitment systems throughout the process.
  • Coordinate with legal, operations, and practice leadership on employment agreement execution and onboarding handoffs.
  • Serve as a consistent, trustworthy face of SALT in the OMS community, attending relevant conferences, professional events, and residency programs as a brand ambassador.
  • Cultivate long-term relationships with surgeons not yet ready to move, maintaining warm pipelines over 12- to 24-month horizons.
  • Represent SALT with professionalism and precision in every interaction. The OMS community is tight-knit and reputation is currency.
