About The Position

Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Underwriting Manager to join a growing team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the success of the underwriting operations by assessing risk, maintaining profitability, and fostering strong relationships with stakeholders. Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in underwriting or a related field.
Strong organizational skills to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
Proven ability to develop and maintain strategic relationships.
Exceptional decision-making, analytical, and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

Progression toward professional certifications such as Associate in Surety and Fidelity Bonding (AFSB), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or Registered Professional Liability Underwriter (RPLU) is preferred.

Responsibilities

Analyze and interpret business reports, including credit checks, bank agreements, and financial statements, to support underwriting processes.
Oversee risk selection, pricing, retention, growth, and profitability for the assigned branch office.
Ensure compliance with company guidelines in assessing risk quality.
Review underwriting decisions and provide recommendations for extending surety credit, including terms and conditions.
Build and maintain strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Deliver exceptional customer service and communicate effectively with all parties.
Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team to achieve organizational objectives.
Make timely, informed decisions using independent judgment and initiative.
Uphold integrity and honesty in all business dealings.
