About The Position

Barnes Jewish Hospital is seeking a Sr. Supply Distribution Technician! This role involves overseeing the daily management of medical materials, including supplies, equipment, and linen, for multiple departments throughout the hospital and/or network. Key duties include freight handling, package processing, staging, and campus deliveries. The technician will also be responsible for communicating with departments, documenting discrepancies, and processing Return to Vendor (RTV) forms. This position supports the receiving department's operations and contributes to BJC HealthCare's goal of developing a world-class supply chain management organization.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2-5 years of experience
  • No Supervisor Experience required for minimum requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Management or Logistics

Responsibilities

  • Unload inbound freight, ensuring safe and efficient processing of packages.
  • Process packages according to BJC receiving guidelines, ensuring compliance with established protocols.
  • Stage inbound and outbound freight for efficient workflow and distribution.
  • Perform timely direct deliveries to various departments across campus.
  • Communicate effectively with departments via email or Microsoft Teams chat to coordinate deliveries and resolve issues.
  • Identify and document freight discrepancies, ensuring accurate reporting.
  • Complete Return to Vendor (RTV) forms as needed, following company procedures.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned to support the receiving department’s operations.
  • Able to apply lean supply philosophy, performs basic analytics using Microsoft products and other tools available through supply chain management systems.
  • Performs material receiving functions verifying correct items, quantities, processing receipts in the inventory management computer system, process RTVs, tagging/labeling and staging items for delivery.
  • Review reports, collaborate with department staff to adjust par levels, coordinate opportunities for improvement, implement and maintain standardized community supply model, assist w/JIT room audits.
  • Processes stock/non-stock orders in the inventory management systems, coordinates with procurement to resolve order issues, RTVs, discrepancies, match exceptions, recalls and returns to vendor.
  • Provides daily oversight of material functions while ensuring a safety focused environment complying with BJC, OSHA, Joint Commission standards and performs housekeeping functions in supply rooms.
  • Aids in training, mentoring and developing new Supply Technicians.
  • Oversees daily management of medical material (supplies, equipment and linen) for multiple departments throughout the hospital and/or network.
  • Assisting with manufacturer recall notifications/usage investigations.
