About The Position

AWS Infrastructure Services is responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure, ensuring the cloud runs smoothly. This involves supporting all AWS data centers and the associated equipment. The role offers the opportunity to work on challenging supply chain problems within a diverse team of engineers, specialists, and managers. The AWS Infrastructure Supply Chain & Procurement (ISCaP) organization focuses on sourcing, building, and maintaining socially responsible data center supply chains. This specific role is for an experienced professional who is passionate about technology, driving change, and making a global impact. The individual will own, build, and run technology sourcing and operations, collaborating with multiple teams to meet the demands of a high-growth industry. The role requires a customer-obsessed, long-term thinker who can execute effectively. The AWS procurement team is seeking a results-oriented individual to manage the launch of new Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA) products, geography expansions, and contract manufacturing. Responsibilities include developing alternate or multi-sourcing strategies and action plans to support new product launches and sustain existing products. The role involves leading internal and supplier engagements across Supply Chain, Engineering, and Business organizations, with a deep dive into product and supply chain technologies and operations. The individual will analyze industry trends to develop strategies for cost reduction, risk minimization, supply continuity, and leveraging emerging opportunities to meet AWS goals.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Drive Amazon PCBA introductions by qualifying and securing multiple sub-tier component sources pre-launch, ensuring supply chain resiliency through validated alternate suppliers while meeting launch timing, cost, and quality objectives.
  • Partner with design, manufacturing teams and suppliers to implement robust product/configuration management processes, driving timely qualification of alternate sources to guarantee supply availability at launch.
  • Matrix manage team members from across all functions to develop new product plans and sustaining processes. Typical functions to interact with include Global Commodity Managers, Global Supply Managers, Technical PM, SQE, Supply Chain, DFX, Finance, etc.
  • Represent ISCaP with the product design teams. Use production expertise to influence and negotiate for design for supply chain.
  • Communicate project status updates to various project stakeholders, including team members and executives. Synthesize a multitude of issues into a clear, concise and focused message. Present with confidence and brevity.
  • Drive improved visibility around transition planning events, especially as they relate to End of Marketing (EOM), End of Sales (EOS) and End of Production (EOP).
