About The Position
L3Harris Tactical Communications is seeking a Sr. Supplier Quality Engineer to support our fabrication sourcing team. The successful candidate will have a technical background with experience in die casting and injection molding. This role requires the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Experience with quality systems/tools including APQP, PPAP, and part qualification is desired. The role involves collaboration with suppliers to reduce variability, increase reliability, and ensure on-time delivery, with a focus on problem prevention, supplier quality control, continuous improvement, and data reporting. The engineer will facilitate Part/Process Qualification through FAI and PPAP, manage material inspection plans and methods for production material, and collaborate with engineering, suppliers, and manufacturing for smooth transitions from concept to production. A willingness to travel (25% or more), primarily domestic, is required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
- Technical background with experience in die casting and injection molding.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience with quality systems/tools including APQP, PPAP, and part qualification.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with plastic injection molding, die casting, and magnesium alloys.
- Experience in Six Sigma, Lean methodologies, Corrective & Preventive Action, and Root Cause Analysis.
