About The Position

We are seeking an experienced, initiative-taking engineer to lead strategic new product introduction and manufacturing technology initiatives across our North American HVAC operations. This role partners closely with product design, product marketing, and operations teams to identify, develop, and implement innovative solutions that enhance product capability, manufacturing efficiency, and overall business performance. The Sr. Strategic Project Manager will play a key leadership role driving complex, high‑visibility, and cross‑functional projects critical to Carrier’s strategic growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Project Management
  • 8+ years of engineering and/or management experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 8+ high‑volume manufacturing operations
  • Ability to travel internationally up to 35% of the time

Responsibilities

  • Develop project plans, timeline, and budgets for upcoming strategic projects
  • Include new production methods and opportunities across multiple facilities and develop clear project scopes for implementation
  • Evaluate automated technology projects for heat exchangers, sheet‑metal fabrication, material handling, and assembly processes in high‑volume manufacturing environments
  • Assess equipment capabilities, capacities, and integration requirements
  • Lead the design, planning, and execution of process changes required to support NPIs
  • Integrate new equipment into existing factory layouts and optimize material flow, sequencing, and operations to ensure smooth NPI deployment
  • Lead project teams through installation, commissioning, and implementation phases, ensuring safe execution, on‑time delivery, and adherence to budget
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and leadership teams across facilities to align project outcomes with business needs
  • Ensure full compliance with EH&S policies, regulatory requirements, and company safety standards
  • Apply analytical process‑capability tools (DOE, ProCert) to validate process performance and ensure quality expectations are met
  • Conduct cost analyses and track project performance against budget
  • Lead equipment bidding processes and support contractor selection and management
