Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies is a joint venture between two industry leaders with a clear vision for automotive’s next chapter. From operating systems to zonal controllers to cloud and connectivity solutions, we’re addressing the challenges of electric vehicles through technology that will set the standards for software-defined vehicles around the world. The road to the future is uncharted. By combining our expertise across connectivity, AI, security and more, we’ll map a new way forward. Working together, we’ll create a future that’s more connected, more intelligent, more sustainable for everyone. RVT vehicles for Volkswagen Group programs combine RVT zonal and platform ECUs with secondary ECUs (2nd ECUs) supplied by the VWG brands. Every RVT domain team has to integrate against those 2nd ECUs, and all of it depends on a shared network interface definition. Today that definition is largely handed to us by VWG and our domains are mainly taking in what they receive. We need to move to a world where each RVT domain owns its interfaces and changes flow incrementally rather than in large releases. You will join the SW Systems Architecture team and partner with the interface architecture leads to run the network interface program inside RVT, drive the transition from consuming VWG's definition to domain owned interfaces, roll out the frameworks the architects define for 2nd ECUs, and give domain teams and leadership one current view of where each 2nd ECU stands. The architects set the technical direction. You turn it into a plan, a cadence and a set of artifacts the organization can execute against.
