About The Position

Seagate is seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Technical Account Manager (TAM) to lead technical engagement and customer success activities for the Dell Systems account. This role serves as the primary technical owner for customer-facing programs, qualifications, product transitions, change management activities, and strategic technical engagements. The TAM acts as the voice of the customer within Seagate while ensuring customer commitments, schedules, and business objectives are achieved. The successful candidate will develop strong relationships across Dell and Seagate, coordinating activities across Product Management, Solutions Engineering, Sustaining Engineering, Quality, Firmware, Hardware, Manufacturing, and Sales organizations. The TAM is accountable for driving customer satisfaction, qualification success, issue resolution, technical communications, and program execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field and 15+ years of experience; or 12 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 8 years of experience; or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in technical account management, customer engineering, systems engineering, quality engineering, program management, or related disciplines.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise storage systems, HDDs, SSDs, storage architectures, or data center technologies.
  • Experience leading cross-functional technical teams.
  • Demonstrated customer-facing leadership and relationship management skills.
  • Customer-focused and enjoy building strong relationships across technical and business organizations.
  • Comfortable leading complex discussions, coordinating diverse teams, and communicating with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Skilled at balancing technical depth with business objectives and customer needs.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting major OEM customers such as Dell, HPE, Lenovo, Oracle, or hyperscale accounts.
  • Knowledge of storage qualification processes and product lifecycle management.
  • Familiarity with Jira, Salesforce, ECN processes, and quality management systems.
  • PMP, Six Sigma, or related certifications.
  • Experience working with global teams across multiple time zones.
  • Knowledge of Seagate Systems products, including Exos, Corvault, Juno, Orion, or related storage platforms.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and project management abilities.
  • Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary technical interface between Seagate and Dell for Systems products and solutions.
  • Build trusted relationships with customer engineering, quality, product management, and business stakeholders.
  • Represent customer priorities and advocate for customer requirements within Seagate.
  • Lead regular technical reviews, account meetings, program updates, and executive communications.
  • Drive alignment between customer expectations and Seagate deliverables.
  • Lead customer qualification programs from planning through production deployment.
  • Coordinate qualification schedules, milestones, dependencies, and risk mitigation plans.
  • Monitor qualification status and provide timely updates to both the customer and Seagate leadership.
  • Ensure the successful introduction of new products, technologies, and customer configurations.
  • Drive schedule-to-revenue commitments and qualification readiness, including support for Orion development and Dell-related qualification needs.
  • Own customer-facing aspects of product change management, including ECNs, qualification changes, regulatory updates, product transitions, configuration management, and customer communications.
  • Coordinate customer acceptance and implementation of product changes.
  • Ensure customers understand impacts, benefits, risks, and implementation timelines.
  • Lead cross-functional teams during customer escalations and critical business events.
  • Drive the timely resolution of technical, quality, firmware, hardware, manufacturing, and field issues.
  • Facilitate root cause analysis and corrective action activities.
  • Ensure clear communication of issue status, risks, recovery plans, and customer impacts.
  • Escalate critical issues to leadership when appropriate.
  • Develop and maintain customer account plans, engagement strategies, and technology roadmaps.
  • Partner with Account Management, Product Line Management, and Solutions Engineering teams to support future business opportunities.
  • Identify risks, growth opportunities, and areas requiring executive engagement.
  • Support business reviews, Quality Business Reviews (QBRs), and customer scorecard improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate activities across Product Management, Solutions Engineering, Sustaining Engineering, Quality Engineering, Firmware Development, Hardware Development, Manufacturing Operations, and Sales/Business Development.
  • Align resources and priorities to deliver successful customer outcomes.
  • Drive accountability for customer commitments and action item closure.
