  • Proven experience building and scaling complex, multi-layered platforms spanning software, embedded systems, cloud, and applications.
  • Strong background in embedded systems, real-time firmware, IoT connectivity, and device-to-cloud architectures.
  • Expertise with modern cloud infrastructure such as AWS, Azure, or equivalent, and scalable backend design.
  • Experience with building-automation communication protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, MQTT, BLE, Zigbee, or similar.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, influence cross-functional stakeholders, and deliver high-reliability systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in building automation, industrial controls, energy management, or IoT device ecosystems.
  • Familiarity with power electronics, sensor systems, or hardware-software co-design.
  • Experience with OTA update systems, device provisioning, and secure embedded architectures.
  • Prior leadership in high-growth or hardware-centric technology companies.
  • Master’s degree in engineering or a related discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end platform architecture across software, embedded firmware, device communication protocols, cloud services, data pipelines, and user applications.
  • Define and enforce architectural standards for reliability, security, scalability, and long-term maintainability.
  • Drive innovation in real-time control, sensor fusion, energy optimization algorithms, and building-level automation logic.
  • Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing software engineering organization.
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership while guiding teams across embedded, cloud, and application layers.
  • Oversee development of mission-critical firmware for controllers, sensors, and power modules used in building automation systems.
  • Promote high-quality engineering delivery through CI/CD, automated testing, observability, and performance monitoring.
  • Partner with internal and external teams to integrate platform components, modules, and third-party interfaces.
  • Collaborate with hardware, firmware, systems engineering, product, QA, manufacturing, and field engineering teams.
  • Translate customer requirements, building-automation standards, and regulatory constraints into software solutions.
  • Support customer engagements, technical deep dives, and strategic partnerships.
  • Ensure reliability, cybersecurity, and data integrity across BAS software components.
  • Lead secure boot, encrypted communication, OTA update security, and building-automation standards compliance efforts.
  • Continuously improve system robustness, fault tolerance, and long-term maintainability.
