Let’s Get Loco! POSITION PURPOSE: The Sr. Accountant performs closing procedures by creating and reviewing journal entries. Conducts analysis and balance sheet account reconciliation for several general ledger accounts. Assists in the preparation of detailed schedules for quarterly and annual audits. Prepare sales and use tax schedules and file with appropriate states. Maintain lease accounting schedules.

Requirements

  • BS in Accounting or Finance required.
  • Minimum of four year’s accounting experience required, preferably in multi-unit restaurant/hospitality industry.
  • Very good working knowledge of generally accepted accounting procedures (GAAP) required.
  • Must be decisive and able to make fact-based decisions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset and skills; meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external business partners.
  • Ability to prioritize and plan work assignments and work under pressure of frequent and tight deadlines.
  • Ability to read, write, and interpret complex reports, documents, and correspondence.
  • High level of proficiency with technology including Microsoft Office Suite applications, customized database applications, and internet research tools.
  • Adept at managing and prioritizing competing time sensitive requests while working well in a team atmosphere that may be under pressure.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment on matters of significance to the company.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain sales and use tax schedules in preparation for monthly and quarterly filing with the state.
  • Files sales and use tax forms and other miscellaneous tax requirements with the state.
  • Maintains lease accounting schedules and lease related journal entries in accordance with ASC 842.
  • Prepares journal entries for month end close.
  • Prepares balance sheet reconciliations on various GL accounts.
  • Implements process improvements to maximize efficiency.
  • Ensures SOX compliance by assisting the accounting team in ensuring monthly completion of all controls.
  • Participates in special projects as necessary.
  • Interacts professionally and ethically, constructively participating as a collaborative team member or leader in pursuit of common goals.
  • Other activities, duties or responsibilities that are assigned by your supervisor.
