About The Position

The Senior Staff Accountant will serve as a lead-level accounting resource within the Accounting group, supporting management functions while not holding direct people-management responsibilities. He/She will provide support services with the US Shared Service Accounting (Financial) team for IBA USA, Inc and Subsidiaries, as well as the Americas (Canada, Argentina). He/She will act in the capacity of a Lead Accountant and provide services regarding monthly and annual financial close, with compliance with accounting principles and standards, Corporate global policies and associated legal requirements. When overseeing the external accountants for Canada & Argentina, the Lead Accountant will act as a team leader, managing the external resources and ensuring that deliverables are completed and delivered accurately and on time. He/she will also be the “go-to” person for the oversees management and for the rest of the team during planned and unplanned absences of the Accounting Manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Intermediate of higher proficiency in Excel (Pivot tables, Vlookup, etc)
  • Ability to work within a close team environment, to include other groups (HR, Tax, peers in China, Europe, etc) and various levels of management

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the monthly and annual closing (accruals, additions to AP account, review of PO processing) and maintain appropriate supporting documentation regarding journal entries and monthly analysis (local GAAP and IFRS)
  • Additional variance analysis of P&L on monthly basis for review with management, prepared accurately and on a timely basis. This will also include additional high-level review of all other variance analyses with the US Shared Services group prior to management-related meetings.
  • Work with other Senior Staff Accountant(s) and management regarding financial statement review prior to upload in HFM (group consolidation tool) in compliance with group and regulatory deadlines. Financial figures should be up to date and accurate for the monthly upload. The individual will also participate in the upload process to HFM.
  • Analysis and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts noting corrective actions, to ensure accuracy/completeness of posted data. Additional review of other US/Americas’ shared service entities balance sheet reconciliations; and assistance to be provided to the other Senior Accountants as necessary.
  • Experience with taxes (sales & use taxes and filings, corporate tax filings) and analysis to include taking the lead with management and the Tax team
  • Experience with Intercompany (journals, reconciliation issues)
  • Understanding and participation in review of Cash / cash forecasting and reporting for Global Treasury management
  • Point of contact regarding Wells One Corporate Credit Card program and reporting
  • Quickly identify and undertake issues, providing viable solutions
  • Maintain a critical view of the processes within the Accounting team
  • Initiate /implement process adjustments/improvements when needed
