About The Position
The Sr Staff Accountant is responsible for overseeing aspects of the financial bookkeeping for Bass Pro Shops. This individual will reconcile accounts, finalize financial reports to discuss with management, resolve account discrepancies, and verify financial transactions. This individual must have excellent analytical skills and extensive knowledge of the accounting principles to perform accounting duties that will minimize the financial risk of the company.
Requirements
- Accounting degree
- 5+ years high level accounting experience
- Must possess in depth understanding of financial statements and have the ability and experience to analyze the information presented.
- Must have strong PC skills, (Excel, Word and Access).
- Must be detail oriented, able to meet deadlines and have excellent communication skills.
Nice To Haves
- AS400 and Essbase (Hyperion) experience desired.
Responsibilities
- Prepares journal entries and reconciliations related to notes payable, long term liabilities, accrued interest, prepaid insurances, intercompany accounts, other assets (current and non-current) and other accounts as assigned.
- Prepares expense allocations and related journal entries.
- Assists with month end and year end closings.
- Assist in preparation, review, analysis and distribution of financial reports.
