About The Position

This position is responsible for providing timely and accurate financial statements to owners and management and to provide accounting support to the corporate office. Customer satisfaction will be achieved by satisfying the company’s need to have corporate management related accounting information organized, processed and distributed in an accurate and timely manner. This position will also provide accounting leadership including assisting with new company initiatives.

Requirements

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years related accounting experience
  • strong working knowledge and experience in corporate accounting
  • must have effective interpersonal and project management skills
  • demonstrated experience with problem solving, prioritization, and adaptability is necessary
  • must have advanced computer knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • must have demonstrated oral and written communication skills
  • demonstrated experience with accounting software, ERP systems, and financial report writing tools.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the monthly preparation and review of balance sheet and profit and loss accounts for reasonableness and accuracy.
  • Reconciles control accounts to subsidiary documentation.
  • Prepares general ledger adjusting journal entries at month end and publishes financial statements and budget variance reports for internal use.
  • Preparation and reconciliation of year end work papers for tax returns and audits.
  • Participation in the annual forecasting process including preparation of cash flow and balance sheet forecasts.
  • Will also work with corporate departments to complete and maintain operational forecasts.
  • Other projects include reviewing trial balances, redesigning financial statements, and expense transfer activity.
  • Responsible for invoicing and bill back process for internal and external customers.
  • Handles all corporate deposits.
  • Works closely with corporate management to ensure compliance with SOPs and serves as a corporate liaison from an accounting standpoint.
  • Complies with identified standards for the organization and retention of month end/year end financial/accounting records maintained by the department.
  • Applies knowledge of accounting to evaluate established controls and standardized procedures, identifies opportunities for improvements and alternatives to improve efficiencies within department.
  • Maintains written documentation of policies and procedures pertinent to position.
  • Maintains relationship with Corporate, Property Management and Accounting staff to address information reporting needs.
  • Prepares accounting schedules routinely and as requested by internal management or as needed for external reporting requirements.
  • Expected to provide input and strategic solutions to assist business partners in driving revenue, profit, and quality.
  • Responsible and accountable for effective self/workload management.
  • Ability to multi-task and see responsibilities to completion under strict deadlines.
  • Demonstrates clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Promotes collaboration and positive, professional work environment.
  • Adheres and upholds all CSM Standard Operating Procedures.
