About The Position

This role is responsible for general accounting transactions, including support for period-end financial statements and assistance with tax compliance matters. The position manages accurate and timely calculations and data collection for financial transactions and reporting, handles confidential financial information, and requires moderate judgment within tax regulations, accounting guidelines, and Sarbanes-Oxley regulations. The role involves work contracted by the U.S. government or federal agencies, requiring U.S. citizenship or Lawful Permanent Resident status.

Requirements

  • Four year college degree and two (2) to three (3) years tax accounting related experience preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
  • Experience in a comparably complex multi-subsidiary accounting environment preferred.
  • Excellent computer skills required with experience using software packages such as payroll systems, Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Demonstrated ability to properly compile and maintain financial data.
  • Ability to read and follow basic instructions, ability to understand and implement quality procedures.
  • Math and handwriting skills required and the ability to correctly complete all paperwork.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required with the demonstrated ability to express oneself clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with close attention to detail; the ability to complete assignments and accurately recognize and help resolve problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with and maintain confidential information.
  • Must be able to present valid documentation indicating that they are a U.S. citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares assigned tax returns, tax-related schedules and reports in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Assists Tax Manager with payroll matters as requested, including review of payrolls and benefit submissions.
  • Prepares monthly and quarterly journal entries.
  • Prepares monthly and quarterly workpapers.
  • Performs account reconciliations.
  • Completes period end closing tasks as assigned.
  • Compiles data (daily, period end and ad hoc) as needed.
  • Promotes OCC’s service excellence and quality.
  • Champions OCC’s vision and values; complies with policies and procedures, ethical standards and Code of Conduct.
