About The Position

This position manages and analyzes a broad range of accounting activities supporting RIT Global Delivery Corporation, which oversees RIT's portfolio of career-oriented educational programs offered through partner universities around the world. The role works closely with international partners and university stakeholders to maintain accurate financial information and support the effective financial administration of global programs. Responsibilities include ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial transactions; preparing financial reports, reconciliations, and journal entries; supporting international tax and payroll compliance requirements; and assisting with budgeting, fixed assets, student program, and other global financial operations.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of accounting, finance, and budgeting practices and protocols to ensure accurate financial management and compliance
  • Knowledge of enterprise-wide financial applications and Microsoft Office
  • Skill in analyzing financial data and preparing detailed reports to support decision-making and budgeting activities
  • Skill in written, verbal, and interpersonal communication and customer service
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and exercise professional judgment regarding financial decisions
  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • 4 years of relevant experience
  • Equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered

Responsibilities

  • Reviews invoices to ensure transactions are allowable according to institution policies and procedures and are properly supported in accordance with the project budget. Initiates corrective action or recommends solutions as appropriate
  • Coordinates the reconciliation of the monthly procurement card statement and submittal to the Controller’s Office. Ensures compliance with institution policies and resolves issues identified during the review process
  • Reviews requests for reimbursement from for project-related expenditures and advises the Budget Office of the amount to draw against the available remaining appropriation
  • Works closely with staff to ensure financial processes are aligned with best practices and RIT requirements
  • Prepares materials and audit responses, coordinates audit field work, and communicates directly with internal and external auditors for financial audit engagements. Reviews staff work in response to audit requests, prior to submission, to ensure explanations and supporting documentation are clear and appropriate
  • Coordinates Management Self-Assessment and discloses all significant deficiencies or material weaknesses in the design or operation of internal controls. Recommends improvements and changes to department procedures
  • Other duties as assigned
