About The Position

We are seeking a Senior Specialist, Intellectual Property to apply advanced knowledge of the field, working independently with limited supervision. This function protects the innovations behind ON.energy’s battery and grid technology. You will deepen your expertise and help raise the bar across ON.energy.

Requirements

• 5–8 years of relevant intellectual property experience.
• Engineering/science degree required, preferably with deep knowledge of grid-scale power electronics.
• Deep knowledge of patent and trade-secret practice.
• Technical aptitude to engage with engineering teams.
• Strong patentese writing and analytical skills.
• Proficiency with the Microsoft 365 suite required.
• Proficiency with Artificial Intelligence tools required.

Nice To Haves

• USPTO patent bar considered a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage intellectual property projects and processes independently with limited supervision.
• Collaborate with employees at all levels across the organization to further build the IP Portfolio.
• Solve difficult and sometimes complex problems within intellectual property.
• Contribute to refining the IP strategy and portfolio coverage.
• Contribute to establishing IP processes, disclosures, and governance (e.g., NAPKIN-style capture).
• Contribute to advising R&D and leadership on IP risk and freedom-to-operate.
• Contribute to managing prosecution and external counsel.
