About The Position

The Senior Specialist, Environmental Health & Safety is responsible for leading and continuously improving Nova’s EH&S programs across all U.S. sites to ensure a safe, compliant, and proactive work environment. This role partners closely with employees, leadership, and regulatory agencies to drive injury prevention, environmental compliance, employee training, and a strong safety culture aligned with current and future business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure Nova is a safe work environment for all employees through implementation of policies, trainings, procedures and culture of all Nova U.S. Sites
  • Continuous improvement of an effective Environmental, Health and Safety program.
  • Interact with the various local, state and federal agencies such as MWRA, OSHA, DEP, EPA, Insurance carriers, Local Fire/Police, and many others for permitting and inspection requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all environmental and health regulations, as well as keeping abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that potentially impact the organization.
  • Coordinate all aspects of resource use, pollution reduction, waste management, environmental health, and risk assessment and employee involvement.
  • Be responsible for identifying and remediating hazardous workplace conditions in all Nova U.S. Sites
  • Develop a strong working knowledge of standard concepts, practices and procedures within the organization.
  • Chair the Safety Committee each month and coordinate with members to complete action items.
  • Oversee the activities and projects of subordinates.
  • Review overall EH&S effectiveness and map out continuing strategy to meet the current needs as well as future needs.
  • Lead and direct efforts of managers and employees on various safety initiatives at Nova.
  • Train employees on company policies and regulations pertaining to employee safety such as Blood Borne Pathogens, HazCom, Chemical Hygiene, LOTO, etc.
