CNO Financial Group’s IT Team is hiring a Sr. Solution Architect to design and deliver logical solution architectures for applications, integrations, and technology components that support business objectives and project success. This role partners closely with business and delivery teams to translate requirements into scalable, high-quality solutions across a diverse application portfolio. The Sr. Solution Architect provides technical leadership and project oversight, reviews solution designs from development teams, coordinates across technical disciplines, and ensures adherence to CNO architecture standards. Additionally, this position develops high-level estimates for complex initiatives, evaluates emerging technologies, prototypes innovative solutions, and creates comprehensive architecture documentation to support successful project delivery.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline, or equivalent experience in lieu of degree.
- Typically requires a minimum of five to seven years of related technical experience, with increasing responsibility.
- Experience with architecture across API integrations, cloud/hybrid platforms, and enterprise applications.
- Prior experience working across Agile Release Trains or large cross-functional delivery teams.
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience with MuleSoft is preferred.
- An excellent ability to influence architecture decisions without direct authority and translate architecture risks into business and delivery impact.
- Experience collaborating on enterprise, mission‑critical project teams and clearly articulating complex solutions to senior management and stakeholders.
- Proven team‑oriented mindset, with experience collaborating effectively across technical and business teams to drive solutions forward.
Responsibilities
- Providing logical solution architecture for applications, integrations, and components to successfully deliver projects and meet business goals under limited direction.
- Designing solutions across a broad and diverse application landscape based on defined business requirements.
- Providing technical oversight for projects, including reviewing development team designs and coordinating across technical teams.
- Partnering with business and delivery stakeholders to understand and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Ensuring adherence to CNO architecture standards and best practices.
- Collaborating frequently with IT disciplines including analysts, developers, testers, and project managers to ensure successful project delivery.
- Developing high-level estimates for complex initiatives, including those with incomplete or evolving requirements.
- Prototyping and evaluating new technologies to inform architectural decisions.
- Producing high-quality architecture designs and supporting documentation.
