About The Position

Themis Insight is seeking a Sr. Software Tool Engineer to join their DNS, DHCP, IPAM (DDI) Operations Team. This role is based in Laurel, MD, though the position location is subject to change based on central MD client's needs. The successful candidate will be an integral member of the DDI Operations Team, primarily responsible for the IP Address Management process. A key aspect of the role involves the automation of requirements management, change management, requirements gathering/tracking, and configuration management. Projects will require automated solutions to effectively manage requirements, link source documents, and architectures. The Tools Engineer will collaborate with various teams to identify, engineer, and implement optimal automated solutions that adhere to approved processes for given projects or infrastructure. Furthermore, the engineer will work with all other infrastructure support teams to identify, engineer, and implement solutions that integrate with existing automation, infrastructure, and productivity tools. A TS/SCI with a Polygraph security clearance is required for this position.

Requirements

  • Fourteen (14) years combined experience as a software engineer, system engineer, system administrator or configuration management engineer
  • Eight (8) years experience as a Tools Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business discipline from an accredited institution (Four (4) years of additional experience as a software engineer, system engineer, system administrator, or configuration management experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree)
  • DOD8570-M, IAT Level 1
  • Experience with DNS, DHCP, IPAM, Load Balancing (F5/DTC)
  • Familiar with outages, latency issues, & trouble shooting
  • Proven experience designing and implementing DDI solutions
  • Experience with load balancing technologies
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts, including IPv4 and IPv6
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with scripting (Perl, Python) and automation tools (Ansible)
  • DNS experience with an understanding of administration of Infoblox
  • Experience with Infoblox trouble tickets
  • In-depth knowledge of Infoblox DDI (DNS, DHCP, IPAM)

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement secure and scalable DNS, DHCP, and IPAM (DDI) solutions using Infoblox DDI
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex DDI issues
  • Automate DDI workflows to improve efficiency
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to internal teams on all aspects of DDI, including IPv4 and IPv6
  • Maintain the latest Infoblox DDI features and best practices
