About The Position

We are seeking a Senior Engineering Manager with experience in SHMEM and MPI user space software development or development of Network Operating Systems (NOS) across switches and NICs, similar to Cisco IOS, Juniper Junos, or Arista EOS. This individual will possess a blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and an understanding of high-performance computing (HPC) environments.

Requirements

  • Experience in software development methodologies, programming languages (e.g., C/C++, Fortran), and frameworks relevant to HPC and parallel programming.
  • Proficiency in using OpenSHMEM and MPI libraries for parallel programming, OR deep knowledge of network operating system.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate teams, set clear expectations, delegate effectively, and manage conflicts constructively.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to identify and resolve complex technical and team-related challenges.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with parallel architectures, distributed systems, job schedulers, and other related technologies commonly used in HPC environments.

Nice To Haves

  • SHMEM and MPI expertise: Deep understanding of SHMEM and MPI programming models, including one-sided communication, message passing, collective operations, and synchronization.
  • Performance optimization: Expertise in optimizing performance for parallel applications using SHMEM and MPI, including techniques for minimizing latency and maximizing bandwidth.

Responsibilities

  • Leading, mentoring, and developing a team of software engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
  • Defining the technical vision and roadmap for projects involving SHMEM and MPI, ensuring alignment with the organization's goals.
  • Overseeing the entire software development lifecycle, including planning, resource allocation, implementation, testing, and delivery.
  • Providing guidance on architectural decisions, code quality, and integrating new technologies, specifically focusing on SHMEM and MPI in user space applications.
  • Working closely with product managers, designers, quality assurance professionals, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure smooth project execution.
