About The Position

Across our global Neuroscience organization, we advance care for some of medicine’s most complex neurological and spinal conditions. By combining innovative technology, data-driven insights, and deep clinical expertise, we partner with physicians and health systems to improve how patients are treated and supported throughout their care journey. Our Cranial & Spinal Technologies (CST) operating unit advances surgical care for spine and cranial conditions through an integrated ecosystem of implants, navigation, robotics, imaging, and planning tools. Platforms like AiBLE enhance precision, efficiency, and outcomes for complex procedures worldwide. As a Senior Engineer within this group, you will be responsible for adhering to the software development process and is focused on new technology and long-term product development efforts. Works on the designing, debugging, testing and validation of new and existing products derived from these technologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelors or Master’s in computer engineering, Electrical Engineering or Biomedical Engineering
  • 4+ years of experience with a Bachelors’ Degree or 2+years with a Master’s Degree
  • Strong programming skills in C# and/or C, C++

Responsibilities

  • Supports software development and release activities, including requirement, design, test definition, documentation, build management, configuration control, and regulatory.
  • Work with software architecture and software development colleagues to storyboard and develop libraries, source code and compiled binary code and GUI software elements.
  • Software design, development, testing and documentation; in accordance with Medtronic Navigation Littleton Software Development processes.
  • Participates in cross product development efforts.
  • Participate in cross-functional project team meetings.
  • Report and/or resolve software bugs/issues as well as field-originated troubleshooting tasks.
  • Monitors and mentors Software Engineers I and II, and software interns as required.
  • Assist in customer service, support, and installations. Participates in training Customer Service, Production, Marketing and Sales.
  • Maintain projects and documentation according to ISO and GMP guidelines, while following the Medtronic Navigation Littleton Software Development process.
  • Participate in society meetings, focus groups, and User Site Testing (UST) activities to support prototype development and refinement of prototypes into finished commercial products.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
