About The Position

As an engineer on the team, you will help connect cutting-edge foundation models with end users and guide products and features that bring generative AI technologies to life. You will serve as the engineering link between backend machine learning and the user interface, designing and implementing intelligent user experiences that leverage Large Language Models (LLMs). You will integrate data and services from multiple providers and build the orchestration layer needed for Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), with a focus on fast, accurate, context-aware experiences. You will work with the platform team to define infrastructure interfaces for low-latency model serving and secure data handling. You will also partner with Apple Design and client-side teams to turn complex AI interactions into intuitive features across Siri, Spotlight, and Safari.

Requirements

• 3+ years of industry-related experience working in collaborative environments.
• Experience with prompt engineering and prompt tuning techniques, including systematic evaluation and iteration based on quality and consistency metrics.
• Strong product sense and focus on the end-user experience.
• Excellent problem-solving, critical-thinking, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in at least two programming languages, such as C/C++, Go, Python, or Java.
• Ability to understand product requirements and translate them into engineering tasks.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or 2 years of equivalent work experience.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience in a consumer-facing product.
• In-depth experience with server-side development and deployment.
• Advanced degree in Computer Science.
