The Vehicle Analysis Tooling team builds applications used by production, test, and flight. This role owns the full path of those systems: platforms that ingest and process high-volume engineering data such as telemetry, sensor data, and video; tools and interfaces engineers use to review analysis and act on it; and the infrastructure that runs the applications. The work spans data processing, video, applied models, interfaces, and operations, with an expectation that the engineer will learn unfamiliar areas quickly enough to deliver production software. The engineer partners with vehicle, propulsion, test, manufacturing, and inspection engineers to solve important analysis problems, with success measured by time saved and problems caught. The role includes taking statistical models, computer vision, or large language models from evaluation into production review workflows, and maintaining visibility into the quality of their results. It also sets technical direction and team practices for testing, CI/CD, observability, code review, performance, reliability, and incident response. Compensation is listed at Level 3, with a base pay range of $165,000 to $265,000. Actual level and salary may vary based on job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience. The total rewards package may include long-term incentives such as company stock or long-term cash awards, potential discretionary bonuses, and an employee stock purchase plan. Benefits include medical, vision, and dental coverage; a 401(k) plan; short- and long-term disability insurance; life insurance; paid parental leave; discounts and perks; three weeks of accrued paid vacation; 10 or more paid holidays annually; and paid sick leave under company policy.
