Sr. Software Development Engineer, QTS (Quality Technology Service)
About The Position
Amazon's global fulfillment business is one of the largest and most complex operations in the world, with technologically advanced warehouses and a fleet of Robots at the center. Quality Technology Service (QTS) is a key part of that solution, enabling the flow of inventory into and out of warehouses for shipment. As a Sr. Software Development Engineer, you will be responsible for developing the next generation of systems, scaling systems to handle hundreds of thousands of concurrent transactions. This role offers the opportunity to own the design and development of distributed systems on the AWS platform, influence system design and implementation for the best user experience and maximum adoption, and contribute to a wide range of projects in a highly collaborative and fast-paced environment. You will join a world-class engineering team solving challenging problems at scale. A commitment to teamwork, hustle, and strong communication skills are absolute requirements. Requirements
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
Nice To Haves
- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
Responsibilities
- Owning end to end design, implementation and development
- Owning post go-live operational support
- Mentoring junior engineers and collaborating with customers and stakeholders
- Collaborating on sharing best practices with leaders within the organization about building scalable solutions
- Learning and application of the latest Gen AI technologies
