About The Position

At Rincon Research Corporation, our primary business is innovating, developing, and fielding digital signal processing (DSP) products and services for the United States Defense and Intelligence Communities in support of national security. Rincon Research Corporation (RRC), an employee owned company, is seeking a talented, tenacious, results-driven individual to work in a multi-disciplinary R&D environment with similarly motivated electrical engineers, mathematicians, computer scientists, and analysts who are collectively responsible for creating custom digital signal processing solutions and leveraging them to make an operational mission impact. We seek an experienced Agile Software developer who can not only lead the existing, high-performing software development team, but also oversee and guide the implementation of the Agile software approach to fulfill customer expectations. Requirements

  • Full scope polygraph or willingness to obtain is required
  • US CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED
  • Demonstrated, well-established experience with Agile software development in C++/Python using GitLab/Atlassian tools

Nice To Haves

  • Docker or Podman containerized software in a Kubernetes managed environment
  • X-MIDAS experience
  • Digital Signal Processing and geolocation knowledge
  • Web and database development (PostgreSQL)

Responsibilities

  • Leads an Agile software development team comprised of about five senior-, mid- and junior-level developers
  • Implements the adoption of the Agile software development approach, at approximately the CMMI level three, as well as the related Agile processes into an established, high functioning software development team
  • Works closely with the Program Manager, Lead Architect / Product Owner and The Software Delivery Lead to establish team priorities
  • Contribute as part of the SW Dev team to develop new functionality and capabilities to operate in a containerized environment
  • Willingness to support RRC products on-site at customer locations (Chantilly/Dulles/Sterling area) as needed, the primary work location is the RRC Chantilly office
  • Works closely with other elements of engineering team to ensure delivered solutions meet all customer requirements
  • Assists and advises the System Engineering team to produce accurate and timely documentation
  • Communicates internally and externally to influence changes in practices, processes, and approaches
  • Participates in all phases of the product development life cycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration, and testing
  • Applies engineering, software, and mathematical analysis principles in software development
  • Provides input for new products and processes
