Sr. Social Producer

SamsaraSan Francisco, CA

About The Position

Samsara is seeking a Sr. Social Producer to join their Corporate Marketing group. This role is part of the Brand Creative team and focuses on producing social-first content for the company's owned channels. The producer will be responsible for the entire content lifecycle, from conception to publication, on platforms like LinkedIn, Meta, TikTok, YouTube, and X. The role emphasizes short-form vertical video, including customer spotlights, product moments, employee content, executive clips, and trend-driven posts. The producer will establish the platform-native content standards, including hooks, pacing, captions, on-screen text, sound design, framing, and algorithm awareness, and will be expected to react quickly to cultural moments. The role involves leading the production of social content series, mentoring others, and increasingly leveraging AI as a tool for ideation, editing, and other production tasks. A portfolio of social-first work is required. This position is based in San Francisco and requires a few days of on-site work per week.

Requirements

  • 4+ years producing social-first content for brand channels, with a focus on short-form vertical video.
  • A portfolio or reel of social-first work you personally produced and published.
  • Demonstrated track record building and scaling a social content series with measurable audience and engagement growth.
  • Deep platform fluency across LinkedIn, Meta platforms, TikTok, YouTube (Shorts and long-form), and X—native formats, specs, current trends, and what performs on each.
  • Hands-on production craft: shooting on mobile and prosumer cameras, directing on-camera talent, capturing field content solo or with a small crew, and editing in social-native tools like Capsule.
  • Basic comfort with motion graphics elements (lower thirds, captions, transitions) as they appear in social cuts.
  • Active use of AI tools in your production workflow, with concrete examples you can talk through.
  • Comfort reading social performance data and translating it into creative decisions on the next post.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills; ability to multitask and turn content around quickly on shifting deadlines.
  • Travel required up to 10%.

Nice To Haves

  • In-house brand social or agency-side brand social experience is a plus.
  • Experience building social-native content programs for a B2B or enterprise brand.
  • Experience working in B2B tech.
  • Experience working with creators or building creator partnership programs.
  • Experience working in a project management tool like Airtable.
  • Familiarity with pro tools like After Effects and Premier Pro is a plus, but not required.
  • Willingness to be on-camera is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Produce social-first video content end to end—concept, shoot, edit, publish—for LinkedIn, Meta platforms, TikTok, YouTube (Shorts and long-form), and X.
  • Own the craft from idea to publish; most projects are short turnarounds measured in days, not weeks.
  • Shoot in the field, frequently solo, on mobile and prosumer cameras.
  • Serve as the on-the-ground capture lead—interviewing customers and Samsarians, directing on-camera talent, and bringing back footage ready to cut for vertical and square formats.
  • Edit in social-native tools (Capsule and similar mobile and lightweight workflows).
  • Partner with the Video team for long-form polish and motion-heavy work when needed.
  • Build platform-native craft into every post: strong hooks in the first 1.5 seconds, sound-on and sound-off layers, on-screen text and captions, vertical and square framing, pacing matched to platform behavior, and end-card patterns that drive saves, shares, and follows.
  • Lead production of social content series. Take a concept from pilot to repeatable format, build the production playbook for each series, and mentor peers and contractors on how to execute it consistently.
  • Move fast on reactive content. Watch culture and platform trends daily and turn moments into on-brand posts within hours when warranted.
  • Integrate AI tools across every stage of the workflow—ideation, scripting, storyboarding, rough cuts, captioning, voiceover, B-roll generation, localization, and repurposing—applying strong creative judgment to ensure outputs meet our quality bar and brand standards.
  • Share what is working with peers and advise the team on AI usage.
  • Use performance data as the iteration loop. Read views, watch time, audience retention curves, engagement rate, follower growth, saves, and shares; let the data inform the next cut, the next hook, and the next series.
  • Partner with creators and Samsarians on camera. Help build creator partnership and Samsarian-as-creator programs that scale our social presence beyond what one in-house producer can ship alone.
  • Run the social production calendar and approval flow. Keep stakeholders aligned, keep the cadence high, and keep blockers from stalling reactive posts.
  • Champion, role-model, and embed Samsara’s operating principles—Sample the customer experience, Be intellectually honest, Work with urgency and deliver iteratively, Work backwards from winning, Keep a high bar, Have discipline, Eliminate bureaucracy, and Solve problems together—in how you produce, ship, and collaborate.

Benefits

  • Performance-based bonus/variable pay
  • Equity (for eligible roles)
  • Professional development stipend
  • Comprehensive health and parental leave plans
