Job Description: We are looking for a Senior SLED Storage Sales Manager to lead a high-performing team of Storage Sales Specialists focused on delivering HPE's storage solutions to State, Local Government, and Education (SLED) customers. This leader will drive sales execution, develop top talent, coach winning sales strategies, and build strong executive customer relationships while helping grow HPE's storage business. The ideal candidate brings proven sales leadership experience, a strong enterprise technology background, deep knowledge of the SLED market, and a passion for developing teams and delivering results.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of enterprise technology sales experience.
  • 5+ years of experience leading high-performing sales teams.
  • SLED sales management experience required.
  • Experience leading quota-carrying teams and achieving progressively higher sales goals.
  • Enterprise storage sales experience or closely related infrastructure experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience managing complex sales cycles, strategic accounts, forecasting, and pipeline development.
  • Demonstrated experience recruiting, coaching, developing, and retaining sales talent.
  • Located on the East Coast, with Georgia, New York, Virginia, or Pennsylvania preferred with ability to travel approximately 40% across the assigned territory.
  • Strong knowledge of the SLED market, public sector procurement, budgeting cycles, and customer decision-making processes.
  • Deep understanding of enterprise storage, data center infrastructure, cloud, or related technology solutions.
  • Proven ability to lead teams in building pipeline, developing new business, and expanding existing accounts.
  • Strong sales forecasting, territory planning, account planning, and business management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach teams through complex pursuits, competitive situations, pricing strategy, and negotiations.
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to engage senior customer and partner stakeholders.
  • Experience working with channel partners and aligning partner capabilities to customer opportunities.
  • Strong leadership, communication, influencing, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to analyze business performance, identify gaps, and implement actions to improve results.
  • Self-directed, adaptable, and comfortable leading through change, ambiguity, and evolving business priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a geographically dispersed team of Storage Sales Specialists.
  • Set clear direction and drive execution against revenue, profitability, pipeline, and quota objectives.
  • Build and maintain a high-performing team through recruiting, onboarding, performance management, development, and retention.
  • Lead strategic account and territory planning across State, Local Government, and Education customers.
  • Manage pipeline reviews, sales forecasting, opportunity strategy, and overall business performance.
  • Coach the team on prospecting, new-logo development, account expansion, pricing, negotiation, and deal closure.
  • Engage executive-level customers to understand business priorities, build trusted relationships, and position HPE’s value.
  • Support major customer opportunities, escalations, and complex sales cycles.
  • Partner across HPE with account teams, presales, channel partners, marketing, finance, HR, legal, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide competitive insights, customer feedback, and won/lost deal analysis to improve future sales strategy and execution.
  • Promote a strong hunting mentality while reinforcing HPE’s culture, values, and commitment to winning the right way.
