Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2–3 years of experience in laboratory support services, inventory management, logistics, waste handling, or related operational roles.
  • Demonstrated experience working across multiple operational functions or in a cross-trained capacity strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience operating a box truck or similar commercial vehicle (up to 10,000 lbs.) required.
  • Experience in laboratory, pharmaceutical, or regulated (GMP/GLP) environments preferred.
  • Experience with material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts) preferred.
  • Working knowledge of inventory systems, handheld scanners, and material tracking processes.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Teams).
  • Ability to follow SOPs, safety procedures, and compliance requirements across multiple functional areas.
  • General understanding of laboratory operations, safety practices, and waste handling procedures preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to interact professionally with customers and team members.
  • Customer-focused mindset.
  • Ability to work independently and transition between different job functions as needed.
  • Ability to safely operate delivery vehicles and maintain compliance with driving and safety requirements.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Must meet all pre-employment and customer-specific screening requirements.
  • Must obtain and maintain a valid DOT medical card.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a cross-functional resource providing backup coverage and operational support across multiple laboratory service roles, including inventory management, stockroom operations, material handling, waste management, glassware processing, and logistics/delivery.
  • Perform inventory and order management activities using electronic systems, including receiving, stocking, replenishment, cycle counts, and order fulfillment.
  • Execute delivery routes, including transport of laboratory supplies, chemicals, samples, dry ice, glassware and gas cylinders using company transit vehicles (including box trucks where applicable).
  • Support laboratory operations through glassware washing, sterilization, and distribution in compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Collect, sort, transport, and consolidate hazardous and non-hazardous waste in accordance with established procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Load and unload dock deliveries, restock inventory, and maintain organized stockroom operations.
  • Operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, pushcarts, forklifts, and gas cylinder carts (as certified).
  • Provide routine customer support, resolving basic issues and escalating more complex concerns appropriately.
  • Follow all safety regulations, SOPs, GMP/GLP guidelines, and site-specific procedures.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and complete all required training to remain qualified across supported functions.
  • Adapt quickly to different functional areas and responsibilities based on daily operational needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
