About The Position

Our team creates world-class immersive digital experiences for the Company’s premier vacation brands including Disney’s Parks & Resorts worldwide, Disney Cruise Line, Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa, and Disney Vacation Club. We are responsible for the end-to-end digital and physical Guest experience for all technology & digital-led initiatives across the Attractions & Entertainment, Food & Beverage, Resorts & Transportation and Merchandise lines of business as well as other initiatives including MyDisneyExperience and Hey, Disney! This role sits in the Connected Products organization within Technology & Digital for Disney Experiences. The Sr Site Reliability Engineer will report to the Manager of Technology. The Connected Products organization drives the creation, implementation, installation and continued support of new embedded device and RF/IoT applications. In addition the organization supports multiple camera based initiatives such as computer vision, facial recognition and other applications.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of related work experience
  • Proficient in agile environments
  • Applied understanding of observability principles using relevant tools
  • Skilled in Cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
  • Collaborative in building reliable, scalable enterprise systems
  • Capable of identifying root causes in large-scale distributed systems
  • Proficient in Linux administration, troubleshooting, and security
  • Leading technical projects and ensuring smooth delivery
  • Collaborative work with Security Operations teams for secure solutions
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across systems, network, and code
  • Proficiency in RF and connected devices with a proactive demeanor towards continuous learning and skill development, and an interest in mastering emerging data engineering tools and methodologies

Nice To Haves

  • 8+ years of experience in distributed systems.
  • Expertise in Bluetooth and NFC technologies.
  • Expertise in vulnerability management and cybersecurity applications such as Wiz.io.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and support complex sensor systems that fuse multiple protocols and technologies.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize electrical, mechanical, and sensor systems.
  • Ability to configure and calibrate hardware parameters to ensure optimal performance.
  • Strong systems administration skills on Linux, Windows and ability to learn bespoke device platforms.
  • Readiness to be on-call for emergencies, addressing system failures, or malfunctions outside standard working hours.
  • Strong technical writing skills, training, and documentation for service technicians.
  • Periodic assessment of systems for maintenance needs and calibration checks.
  • Maintain cybersecurity platform and vulnerability management for the department.
  • You will be expected to stay up to date with emerging technologies
