About The Position

The Sr. Site Director will oversee operational oversight, people development, financial management, safety, quality, and continuous improvement across a single production site. This role is responsible for advancing strategic growth, ensuring compliance, and driving cultural alignment with company values. The Director will lead all site operations across cheese, string, whey, and fresh mozzarella production lines, managing significant annual throughput while meeting key performance metrics. A strong focus will be placed on driving food safety and product quality, delivering financial performance through effective budget management and cost control, and leading a high-performing leadership team. The role also involves fostering employee engagement, talent development, cross-functional collaboration, and overseeing strategic investments and capital projects. Analysis of KPIs and implementation of continuous improvement practices are crucial, as is serving as a liaison between site operations and senior corporate leadership. Championing a proactive safety culture and ensuring environmental compliance with all relevant regulations are also key responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Requires a Master’s degree in Dairy Manufacturing or Food Science & Technology (or its U.S. equiv.)
  • Two years of experience as an Operations/Plant Manager in dairy/cheese industrial production
  • Experience in soft cheese technology

Responsibilities

  • Oversee operational oversight, people development, financial management, safety, quality, and continuous improvement across a single production site.
  • Advance strategic growth, ensure compliance, and drive cultural alignment with company values.
  • Lead all site operations across cheese, string, whey, and fresh mozzarella production lines, managing throughput of hundreds of millions of pounds annually while meeting performance metrics for safety, quality, service, and cost.
  • Drive food safety and product quality by ensuring compliance with company standards, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations.
  • Deliver financial performance by managing budgets, cost control, forecasting, capital planning, and productivity initiatives.
  • Lead and coach a high-performing leadership team including Plant Directors, Engineering, Maintenance, and Site Administration.
  • Foster employee engagement, talent development, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Lead internal stakeholders (e.g., Supply Chain, Finance, HR, Engineering, Quality) to ensure alignment and site-wide performance.
  • Oversee strategic investments, site master planning, and the execution of capital projects that expand capabilities and capacity.
  • Analyze KPIs and implement continuous improvement practices to maximize performance and minimize waste or downtime.
  • Serve as a key liaison between site operations and senior corporate leadership, providing regular updates on performance and progress.
  • Champion a proactive safety culture by integrating safety into daily operations, ensuring adherence to OSHA standards, and promoting continuous improvement in workplace safety across all departments.
  • Ensure site-wide environmental compliance, including oversight of the wastewater treatment plant, air emissions, and effluent discharge, in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Develop and manage strategic relationships with local, state, and federal agencies (e.g., USDA, EPA, DEC) to support regulatory compliance, environmental stewardship, and food manufacturing standards.
