About The Position

The Senior SBA Portfolio Manager requires in-depth knowledge and experience in exercising sound judgement using best practices within credit and risk administration.

Requirements

  • 5-10 years of banking experience and commercial credit
  • BS or BA Degree in Business Administration or related field experience
  • Extensive knowledge of and experience with credit policies and procedures; both for the Bank and the SBA programs as well.
  • Demonstrates the ability to coach, lead, and motivate.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and good oral written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of software/systems required to successfully perform job function.
  • Proven history of managing high volume workflows

  • Prior experience working within an SBA lending team is strongly encouraged.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all Service Level Agreements, regulatory compliance requirements, and Bank’s credit risk profiles and profitability are monitored and maintained.
  • Manage collections of past due loan payments, lapsing insurance, past due property taxes, document exceptions and other loan issues.
  • Prepare loan modifications and servicing action requests for approval, obtain and review legal documents ensuring renewals and modifications are properly documented.
  • Coordinate collection and review of financial statements, tax returns, rent rolls, PFS, loan document exceptions and other documents as required by annual reporting requirements.
  • Manage and own the Annual Review Process for all required credit relationships.
  • Attend designated training classes each year.
  • Analyzes portfolio relationships with reasonable involvement from the Relationship Manager.
  • Prepares financial models, credit memorandums and has conceptual and practical knowledge of credit policies with the ability to apply them to a variety of situations.
  • Exhibits general understanding of organizational structures, documentation, covenants and/or collateral structures.
  • Effectively tracks and monitors financial reporting requirements and works with Credit Officer in appropriately rating portfolio credit relationships.
  • Uses best practices to provide loan recommendations based on a review of all underwriting criteria for final approval.
  • Exercises adherence to internal portfolio/underwriting processes including timely and accurate data entry to Vikar and/or other centralized systems, as well as, maintaining high quality file documentation in a paperless environment.
  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience and may lead projects with moderate resource requirements, risk and/or complexity.
