About The Position

Kohler is seeking a high-impact, results-driven Senior Sales Executive - Projects & Specifications to drive profitable growth across the Utah market. This role is ideal for a strategic hunter who thrives on building meaningful customer relationships, influencing major project decisions, and delivering results through specification sales, project development, and distributor partnership management. The successful candidate will be responsible for growing Kohler and Sterling brand preference across multifamily, hospitality, commercial, institutional, and residential development projects while serving as the primary account manager for assigned distributor partners. This position combines specification influence, project pipeline development, strategic account management, and market development to increase market share and drive long-term profitable growth. The ideal candidate understands the complexities of long-cycle project sales and can effectively engage developers, architects, designers, engineers, contractors, ownership groups, and distributors throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Construction Management, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 3+ years of successful B2B sales experience with progressive responsibility.
  • Proven ability to manage complex, long-cycle sales opportunities and influence project specifications.
  • Strong understanding of construction, development, design, and specification processes.
  • Demonstrated success building relationships with executive-level decision makers and industry influencers.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and business planning skills.
  • Experience with CRM platforms, preferably Salesforce.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

  • Influence and secure specifications for Kohler and Sterling products across multifamily, hospitality, commercial, institutional, and residential development projects.
  • Develop relationships with architects, interior designers, developers, engineers, builders, ownership groups, and contractors to drive brand preference and specification activity.
  • Identify, pursue, and convert project opportunities from early-stage design through project completion.
  • Manage a robust project pipeline and deliver profitable growth through effective opportunity development and conversion.
  • Present tailored product solutions aligned with project budgets, design objectives, performance requirements, and construction schedules.
  • Leverage market intelligence and project tracking tools to identify opportunities and improve specification conversion rates.
  • Serve as the primary account manager for assigned distributor partners.
  • Develop and execute joint business plans that drive sales growth, market share gains, inventory objectives, and customer engagement.
  • Build executive and operational relationships with distributor ownership, branch leadership, purchasing teams, showroom leaders, and outside sales organizations.
  • Conduct regular business reviews focused on sales performance, market opportunities, inventory optimization, project pipelines, and growth initiatives.
  • Collaborate with distributor partners to support specification pull-through and project conversion efforts.
  • Develop and implement annual Market Development Plans and Distributor Account Plans.
  • Analyze construction activity, competitor actions, customer trends, economic conditions, and market opportunities.
  • Partner with marketing, product management, customer service, supply chain, and leadership teams to deliver a seamless customer experience.
  • Maintain accurate project, customer, pipeline, and forecast information in Salesforce.
  • Represent Kohler at industry events, trade associations, customer meetings, and networking functions.
  • Participate with industry groups that support market development and specification growth.
