About The Position

The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Public Health has an exciting opportunity for a full time Senior Research Associate 2 to work in Miami, FL. The Sr. Research Associate II supports research activities under the direction of a principal investigator. The Sr. Research Associate II must be able to convey information effectively, work independently, follow verbal and written instructions and have strong analytical skills. Engages in public health research activities, including data collection, management, and analysis. Serves as a study coordinator for selected projects, overseeing day-to-day implementation and timeline management. Collaborates with the Principal Investigator and research staff to develop and refine study protocols, procedures, and project timelines. Supports dissemination of study findings by preparing presentation materials and submissions and participating in professional meetings and conferences. Contributes to shaping the Lab’s research agenda by identifying emerging topics and publication opportunities. Leads and supports qualitative research activities across projects, including coordinating data collection, developing coding frameworks, conducting transcript analysis using NVivo, and synthesizing thematic findings. Assists in the preparation of project deliverables, progress reports, and other materials for funders. Schedules and facilitates team meetings, prepares agendas, records meeting minutes, and ensures follow-up on action items. Leads and supports manuscript preparation and submission to peer-reviewed journals. Authors and contributes to manuscripts, reports, and other research documents. Trains research assistants in qualitative analysis methods and the use of NVivo, providing project-specific guidance. Supervises and mentors junior research staff, managing workload distribution, managing workflow, and providing support to facilitate professional growth and ensure deliverables are met. Can work independently and is dependable and efficient. Requirements

  • Master's degree in relevant field required
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience required
  • Ability to learn new procedures, technologies, and protocols, and adapt to changing priorities and work demands.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others and contribute to a team environment.
  • Skilled in using office software, technology, and relevant computer applications.
  • Strong and clear written and verbal communication skills for interacting with colleagues and stakeholders.
