The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Surgery has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time, Research Associate 2 to work in Miami. The Research Associate 2 contributes to the University’s research activities under the supervision of senior staff. Moreover, the incumbent understands, interprets, and complies with research policies and protocols. This role serves as a bridge between computational biology and wet-lab research by analyzing multi-omics datasets (bulk, single-cell, and spatial) from patient tumors and disease models. The position involves collaborating with data scientists, bioinformaticians, and cancer biologists to identify gene regulatory networks and investigate mechanisms of tumorigenesis, treatment resistance, and metastasis. The associate will analyze high-throughput sequencing datasets, apply statistical modeling and machine learning, and develop computational workflows. They will also contribute to data visualization, interpretation, and manuscript preparation, assist with wet-lab techniques, document workflows and results, and adapt to evolving project priorities.
