About The Position

Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Institute (HPHCI) is currently seeking a highly motivated individual to join the Therapeutics Research and Infectious Disease Epidemiology (TIDE) group within HPHCI and Harvard Medical School’s Department of Population Medicine (DPM). TIDE is the home of several large, complex, multi-institutional research initiatives based within health systems using electronic health data that support major national public health activities. Our mission is to improve health care delivery and population health through research and education, in partnership with health plans, delivery systems, and public health agencies. The Senior Research Assistant will perform a variety of activities to support the Project Team, including completing literature searches, administrative applications and data coordination activities. The Senior Research Assistant reports to the Project Manager and will interact with HPHCI project staff and staff from collaborating institutions. This position requires excellent communication skills for close collaboration with investigators and project managers.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree highly preferred.
  • 1 year, with related experience in a health care, research, or academic environment preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel required.
  • Capable of completing very detail-oriented tasks
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with others, prioritize work, operate under tight deadlines, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to operate independently and with good judgment.

Responsibilities

  • Support research studies by performing day-to-day administrative tasks; assist with proposal preparation, grant submissions, data collection and management, and creation and maintenance of project databases.
  • Provide support to internal and external collaborators.
  • Support meeting preparation, set up teleconferences and webinars, send invitations, track responses, solicit and distribute agenda items, create slide decks, provide technical support, prepare meeting minutes, and follow up on action items.
  • Assist with timeline coordination and deliverable preparation, including protocols, research plans, and final reports.
  • Participates in chart validation and/or redaction.
  • Work on special projects, as needed.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.
