Sr. Reliability Engineer, Power Modules and AI Applications
About The Position
Monolithic Power Systems, Inc. (MPS) is seeking an exceptional Reliability Engineer/Sr. Reliability Engineer to join their Quality and Reliability team. This role is crucial for ensuring new power module devices for AI Datacenter applications meet high standards of reliability and quality. The engineer will collaborate with internal and external teams on joint-qualification design, Design for Reliability (DFR), and reliability test planning, utilizing effective data collection and analysis for reliability validation. This is an opportunity to contribute to innovative product development with significant responsibilities and impact.
Requirements
- Master's or Ph.D. in Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Mechanical Engineering.
- 5+ years specializing in reliability testing and qualification of IC devices and packages to AEC/JEDEC standards.
- Proficiency in statistical analysis such as JMP/Weibull.
- Proficiency in advanced failure analysis tools such as SEM, CSAM, Xray, OBIRCH/TIVA.
- Strong understanding of semiconductor device structures and physics, especially in SiC and GaN.
- Experience in supporting customers.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with AI data center power supply architectures is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Joint-Qualification Design: Collaborate with Design, Marketing/Customers, and Application teams as part of Quality Assurance to develop Reliability strategies and methodologies based on customer requirements and mission-profile analysis.
- Experiment-Design: Design experiments to validate that designs and hardware meet intended use profiles and reliability targets.
- Design for Reliability (DFR): Evaluate risks and implement effective mitigation strategies with optimal trade-off analysis.
- Joint-Reliability Tests: Co-lead reliability test planning and progress monitoring at both IC and module levels for specific product families.
- Failure Analysis Support: Drive root cause analysis for reliability-related failures with internal and external teams, ensuring corrective actions are validated before release.
- Global Database: Refine and maintain the Reliability database infrastructure for efficient internal and external QA communications.
- Rel/QA Data Supports: Analyze reliability data using statistical tools like JMP and Reliasoft, and present findings to internal and external teams.
