About The Position

This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military experience to a 3M career. In this role as a Senior Regulatory Affairs Associate, you will play a key role in advancing Safety and Industrial Business Group's compliance practices across 3M’s adhesives, abrasives, personal safety and tapes divisions. You will participate in high-impact regulatory activities, working with multiple functions to ensure timely deliverance of compliance requirements to support product introductions. In this role, you will be able to have a direct influence on business results and assume a leadership role for technical activities. As a Regulatory Affairs Associate, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by: Supporting regulatory and product stewardship efforts across SIBGs product portfolios including adhesives, abrasives, personal safety and tapes. In addition, the position will work with global key account customers. Leading the regulatory compliance and Life Cycle Management requirements for existing and new products. Technical activities include interpreting regulations, performing assessments of safety to human health and the environment, addressing liability avoidance and supporting sustainable business decisions. Determining regulatory pathway through a global regulatory assessment of product changes including developing and maintaining documentation relevant to the assessment of risk to human health and the environment. Follows, analyzes and communicates the impact of chemical of concerns and upcoming regulations to the business teams. Supports the global technical and business teams in a variety of regulated markets, including automotive, electronic, constructions, and transportation markets. Builds collaborative relationships with global Product Stewardship & EHS support functions, including serving on corporate teams. Pursues continuing education efforts to develop advanced knowledge of regulatory requirements, product responsibility skills and knowledge, and business, including an understanding of technologies applicable to the laboratories served.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
  • Completed two semesters or more post-secondary courses in chemistry
  • One (1) year or more of experience in a regulated industry
  • Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with CDMS database
  • Master's degree or higher in chemistry, physical, biological, human health, toxicology, pharmacology, environmental health or engineering science from an accredited University
  • Certificate in Toxicology, Public Health, Environment, Safety or other EHS program
  • Experience working in regulatory, medical device, product responsibility or EHSR corporate staff in work history
  • Strong Project Management Skills
