About The Position

Medtronic is a global leader in healthcare technology seeking a committed professional for a remote Senior Regional Sales Manager (SRSM) position. The hired candidate will be required to reside within the West Region (California, Arizona, Colorado & Texas) and drive to multiple accounts. This role involves selling the Medtronic Hugo™ Robotic Assisted Surgery System, consumable end effectors, and service. The SRSM will lead a team of capital sales specialists, manage complex capital sales processes, understand customer objectives, negotiate contracts, lead teams, and collaborate cross-functionally. The SRSM reports to the US Director of Sales for the US. The role emphasizes the Medtronic mission of alleviating pain, restoring health, and extending life through biomedical engineering and a commitment to quality, integrity, and service. Requirements

  • Bachelors degree required
  • Minimum of 7 years of capital sales experience in a healthcare environment, with a minimum of 3 years of people leadership, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of capital sales experience in a healthcare environment, with a minimum of 2 years of people leadership
  • Reside within the territory (West Region: California, Arizona, Colorado & Texas)
  • Valid driver's license

Responsibilities

  • Promotes and sells Medtronic's Medical/Scientific Equipment products and services including non-implantable medical or scientific equipment products and/or services (e.g., diagnostic medical equipment, medical imaging machines, medical laboratory equipment, and non-implantable medical devices) within an assigned geographic area and /or specific customer accounts to meet or exceed sales targets.
  • Responsible for developing, building, and strengthening long-term relationships with stakeholders including hospitals, physicians, and Radiology and Surgical personnel.
  • Responsible for pursuing leads, assessing needs and providing product services to maximize the benefits derived from Medtronic's Medical/Scientific Equipment products and/or services.
  • Conducts and/or evaluates market research including customers and competitors activities.
  • Develops and/or implements market development plans/strategies and changes as needed.
  • Assesses customer needs and feedback regarding new products and/or modifications to existing products and communicates to internal stakeholders including R&D, Operations and Marketing.
  • Lead commercial opportunity reviews and manage with discipline the SPANCO sales methodology in your region.
  • Actively coach and develop the talented individuals in your team.
  • Serve as the leadership representative of the Surgical Robotics operating unit in the assigned region.
  • Engage with surgeon teams and KOLs to develop opportunities for expansion of robotic assisted surgery.
  • Engage and convince budget-holders and executives in leading hospitals by jointly developing business cases and total cost of ownership (TCO) comparisons and cost per procedure analysis to support making informed decisions regarding the purchase and use of the Medtronic Hugo™ Surgical Robotic System.
  • Structure and develop presentations, pitches, proposals and contracts.
  • Act as lead negotiator in the most complex negotiations.
  • Close meaningful contracts and celebrate success.
